Introduction

Dorado is a Colombian coffee brand that stands for richness, authenticity, and bold flavor. This project focuses on developing a visual identity that reflects the high quality of the coffee and its origins in Colombia’s finest coffee regions. The design should capture the essence of a smooth, full-bodied coffee experience while feeling modern and refined. Whether enjoyed in a quiet morning moment or fueling a busy day, Dorado should visually communicate the depth and character of its coffee in a way that resonates with coffee lovers.

Challenges

The challenge was to create a brand that feels both authentic and modern while standing out in a competitive market. The visual identity needed to honor Colombia’s rich coffee heritage while presenting a fresh and bold aesthetic that captures the attention of coffee lovers seeking quality and character.

Solution

To bring Dorado’s identity to life, I created a series of illustrations inspired by Colombia’s rich history, drawing from ancient art and symbolism. By reinterpreting elements from the Mayan era into minimalist forms and bold colors, the brand feels both authentic and visually striking.

The typography was carefully chosen to reflect this historical influence while maintaining a modern, distinctive, and confident look. The result is a brand that seamlessly balances tradition and contemporary design, embodying the four key qualities the client envisioned: rich, authentic, bold, and modern.

Results

The final visual identity for Dorado is a striking blend of heritage and modernity. The bold illustrations, inspired by Colombia’s history, create a unique and memorable look, while the strong typography reinforces the brand’s confident personality. The combination of vibrant colors and refined design elements ensures that Dorado stands out in a competitive market while staying true to its authentic roots.

As part of the campaign "Grounded in Tradition", I used AI-generated imagery to visualize symbolic scenes blending Colombian coffee heritage with bold storytelling. All art direction, composition and prompt writing were developed by me, with the final visuals created using AI as a creative tool.

Conclusion

Through thoughtful design choices, Dorado successfully captures the essence of rich, authentic, bold, and modern coffee. The visual identity not only reflects the brand’s high-quality product but also tells a story that resonates with coffee lovers looking for both tradition and innovation in every cup.
